Mindfulness and Youth

An organization dedicated to bringing mindfulness to children and youth

Preschoolers

Learn about the Kindness Curriculum, a new kind of ABCs- Attention, Breath, and Caring.  This curriculum can help with social and emotional dynamics like sharing, attention, and empathy.

Grades K-5th

The curriculum developed by Mindful Schools for youth in grades K-5th helps students develop a mindfulness practice that can create schools where students have greater awareness, the ability to focus attention, and base actions in kindness and compassion.

Grades 6th-12th

High school students tell their story of learning to pay attention to the here and now through their engagement with the curriculum developed by Mindful Schools. Their teacher, Ms. O, observes a meaningful shift in the classroom.

Words from students about their mindfulness practice

Ella Mei, 5th Grader

"If everyone in the world practiced mindfulness, it would be more peaceful."

Dylan, 9th Grader

"Without mindfulness, on a day when I felt like I needed mindfulness, I would stay annoyed or angry throughout the whole day and maybe it would carry on to the next day."

Ahmed, 4th Grader

"When I do mindfulness, I feel calm and I have confidence."

Jesse, 9th Grader

"Mindfulness is not just for one group of people, it's for everybody that needs it. Mindfulness is a way to calm down and to collect yourself."
